Terms of Use

The short version. Use the app for your own habits. Premium subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and you cancel in the App Store or Google Play, not with us. The coach is an AI assistant, not a doctor, therapist or trainer — its suggestions are general encouragement, and health data it fills in is only as accurate as your phone’s.

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Habit Novice mobile app, published by Leafy Orb (“LeafyOrb”, “we”, “us”). By downloading or using the app you agree to them. They sit alongside the LeafyOrb Terms of Service; where the two differ for this app, the page you are reading governs.

1. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own personal use. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell or redistribute the app except where the law permits it regardless of this restriction.

2. Your account

You may use the app as a guest or sign in with Google, Apple or an email address. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in secure and for what happens under it. A guest account exists only on the device that created it; if you uninstall without linking a sign-in, its data cannot be recovered, and we may remove abandoned guest accounts. You may delete your account at any time in Profile → Delete account, which permanently removes everything in it. You must be at least 13 (or the equivalent age in your region) to use the app.

3. Premium subscriptions and purchases

The core app is free: in Novice Mode you can track up to three habits, with reminders, streaks, freezes and three coach messages a day. Habit Novice Premium unlocks unlimited habits, unlimited streak freezes, the full coach, weekly AI reports, deeper stats and Buddy Mode. It is offered as a monthly subscription, an annual subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase.

Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their terms, and refunds are governed by their policies, not ours.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until you cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next charge.
Manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings, or from Profile → Premium → Manage subscription. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription.
Where a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends. Trials are limited to one per user.
Prices are shown in the app before you confirm, vary by country, and may change for future billing periods with notice.
The lifetime purchase covers the lifetime of the app and the store account you bought it with. It is not transferable and does not entitle you to future separate products.
“Unlimited” features remain subject to fair-use limits designed to stop automated abuse (for example a daily ceiling on coach messages far above what a person would send).

Entitlements are tied to your store account. Use Restore purchases on the Premium screen if a purchase is not recognised on a device.

4. The coach is not advice

Habit suggestions, goal breakdowns, chat replies, lapse-recovery messages and weekly reports are generated by an AI model from the information described in the Privacy Policy. They are general encouragement and organisation, not medical, psychological, nutritional, fitness, financial or professional advice, and they can be wrong. The app is not a medical device, does not diagnose or treat any condition, and is not a substitute for a qualified professional. If you have concerns about your physical or mental health, or are changing exercise, diet, sleep or medication, consult one. Do not rely on the coach in an emergency.

5. Health data and voice

If you link a habit to Apple Health or Health Connect, the app reads the totals your phone reports and fills the habit in from them. Those readings come from your device and other apps, and we do not verify them; a check-in filled in from Health may be incomplete or wrong, and you can always correct it by hand. Voice check-in relies on your phone’s speech recognition and asks you to confirm before anything is written. You are responsible for reviewing what the app logs on your behalf.

6. Buddy Mode

Connecting with a buddy shares the summary described in the Privacy Policy with that person. Share your invite code only with people you trust, be civil in nudges, and disconnect from anyone you no longer wish to share with. We may remove connections or accounts used to harass others.

7. Your content

Your habits, notes, messages and check-ins belong to you. You grant us the licence needed to store them, sync them between your devices, show them back to you, and send the relevant parts to the AI model to produce the features you use — and nothing more. We claim no other rights in them, and we do not use them to train models.

8. Acceptable use

Use the app lawfully and as intended. Do not attempt to circumvent the entitlement checks, daily limits or App Check; do not use automated means to call our servers or the coach; do not upload content that is unlawful or that you have no right to share; and do not attempt to access another person’s account or data. We may suspend or limit access where we reasonably believe this section is being breached.

9. Availability and changes

We may update, change or discontinue features over time, including which features are free, the daily limits, and which AI model powers the coach. We aim to keep the app and its sync working reliably but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and cloud features depend on your internet connection. Reminders are scheduled by your device and may be delayed or suppressed by its power settings.

10. Disclaimers

The app is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. In particular we make no warranty that the coach’s output is accurate, complete or suitable for you, or that a habit filled in from health data is correct.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LeafyOrb will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill arising from your use of the app or reliance on its coach. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

12. Termination

You may stop using the app or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will do so.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Madurai, Tamil Nadu shall have jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules — except where the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence provides otherwise.
